Frank Cornelissen and the crus of Etna

Over the past two decades, Frank Cornelissen has been developing a highly personal vision of each individual plot (contrada) in his vineyard in the volcano's northern valley, on the unique and truly extraordinary terroir of Etna, the "Mongibello" - or "Munjebel" in Sicilian - that dominates northeastern Sicily. These single-parcel cuvées, divided according to the winemaker's vision into "Premiers Crus" and "Grands Crus", made exclusively from Nerello Mascalese (franc de pied in certain parcels) for the reds, are distinguished by the altitude and aspect of the vines, as well as by the characteristics of the vintage. But they all reflect the rare expressive power of the terroir.
