Everyone knows what the “classic” whites, rosés and reds are, differentiated by the specificities of the terroir, the grape variety, the vintage and the winemaker's know-how. Rarer, and often misunderstood, are the wines that escape definition, whether on the part of the winegrower, through the desire to faithfully follow an intangible tradition or through the choice of a very personal inventiveness. The "translation" - according to Colette's term - of the land by the vine and its expression in the wine by the winegrower is a kind of transmutation: it is the perception of this alchemy which characterizes what are called wines of meditation. Incomparable wines in the strict sense, that is to say, not reducible to an agreed form, sufficiently singular, intense and complete to be unique and not to call for an agreement with a dish – even if they can turn out to be magnificent partners table – or a meal situation. “Soloist” wines to be tasted for themselves, which make the taster listen only to his sensations but also open his mind to a certain part of mystery…
