Corte Sant'Alda

VENETO

Veneto is a rich land of wines, with in particular, in the province of Verona, the famous red of the Valpolicella appellation, but also with Soave, a white too rarely valued. The hillsides enjoy soils and climatic conditions particularly favorable to the many autochthonous grape varieties which make the singularity and the charm of the wines of Veneto, subject to a qualitative requirement which is far from being the dominant rule but which distinguishes the work of domains like Corte Sant'Alda, led by the strong personality of Marinella Camerani.
In Mezzane di Sotto, northeast of Verona, in the fertile Valle di Mezzane watered by many streams and torrents, the territories of Valpolicella and Soave are close by. Since the 1980s, Marinella Camerani – now assisted by her daughter Federica – has worked to obtain the best, healthy and ripe grapes: the key to truly expressive wines. On the 19 ha of her Corte Sant'Alda vineyard, she carried out precise micro-zoning to assess the vine-terroir relationship, and she opted for biodynamics. An energetic and passionate personality, Marinella Camerani signs wines where fruit and terroir combine with a rare authenticity that gives the best image of appellations that are too often misguided.
