Eric Pfifferling - Domaine de l'Anglore
RHÔNE
Éric Pfifferling's L'Anglore estate has established itself as the most authentic expression of the Tavel appellation, with practices in the vineyard (organic cultivation) and in the cellar faithful to an almost forgotten tradition, that of a "rosé that is historically bright red. Pfifferling's red wines from Tavel, Lirac or Vaunage have also contributed to making L'Anglore one of the most indisputable flagship estates of the Rhône Valley.
Initially a beekeeper, Éric Pfifferling became a beekeeper-winemaker when a few plots of family vines were taken over, then fully winemaker when the floods of 2002 carried away his hives and he left the Tavel cooperative cellar, following the example of Jean-François Nicq (then director of the Cave d'Estézargues). Domaine de l'Anglore, where the whole Pfifferling family has been involved since the integration of the two sons on the estate, Thibault and Joris, now spans 16 hectares, mainly in the Tavel appellation area with famous AOC rosés and red wines released as Vin de France. On the territory of Tavel, but also of Lirac or even of the terroir of Vaunage, the reds are vinified with carbonic maceration, with different variations of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Clairette, Mourvèdre and Carignan, always with the same frankness of fruit and purity of expression.
