Based in Ariège, west of the Limoux appellation, Jean-Louis Pinto vinifies organic grapes purchased from various vineyards in the South-West of France. Natural vinifications as close as possible to the expression of the terroir specific to each cuvée, such is the approach of this passionate winemaker.
“Es d'Aqui”: wines “from there" where the vines grow – as indicated by the geographical map illustrating the label of each Jean-Louis Pinto cuvée. In his Pinto Production cellar (the name of his company created in 2011) located in Ariège, he vinifies organic or biodynamic grapes from harvest purchases in different vineyards in South-West France, from Gaillac in Languedoc to Limoux, and chosen according to his affinities with winegrowers and terroirs. Natural vinification in vats or terracotta jars depending on the grapes, without inputs, as close as possible to the expression of the terroir and the grape varieties specific to each cuvée: wines from the South – from the South, one might say –, in the best sense of the word.
