Domaine de l'Octavin - Alice Bouvot
JURA
In a Jura in full revival, a new generation of winegrowers has asserted itself at the dawn of the 21st century. Domaine de l'Octavin is one of the region's flapship domains.
Domaine de l'Octavin, created in 2005 by Alice Bouvot and Charles Dagand, has been run since 2015 by Alice alone. After training as a celloist then as an agronomist and oenologist, followed by various experiences in different winemaking regions around the world, she devoted herself to the small estate located in Arbois. Her ambition is clear: her 5 hectares of vines are farmed organically/biodynamically, without inputs of any kind and without corrective interventions, to favour living soils and natural wines. From her musical culture, Alice has retained a keen sense of interpretation which makes her approach each terroir as a score to be transposed – both faithfully and freely – and transmitted in each cuvée. This same philosophy drives a négoce activity based on the purchase of organic grapes from different regions: wines (all released as Vin de France) whose authenticity is derived from her passionate expression of the terroir.
